The Play Your Cards Right slots game was produced by the OpenBet slots design company and is leased out by casinos using many different primary casino platforms. As a standard OpenBet do not include the house edge information of their slots games, however some casino do list this information in the game help files. It is not clear whether their games are configurable and as such you should treat the information in this review as a guideline only when playing at a casino that does not explicitly state the house edge they use.
Using the 1980’s British game show hosted by Bruce Forsyth of the same name as inspiration, Play Your Cards Right takes your right back to all the fun and excitement.
This game is a 5 reel game, with 15 paylines and you can only bet 1 coin on each payline.
The ‘Joker’ symbol is wild.
There are two different bonus features when playing Play Your Cards Right. Firstly you have the Double Chance Bonus. At the top right hand side of the reels are two meters controlling the size of a red and a blue bonus. These bonuses are increased each time either the red or blue card symbol lands on a reel. The red card symbol is always adds one and a half times the amount to the red bonus that the blue symbol adds to the blue bonus. The bonus feature is activated when you receive three or more of the ‘Double Chance’ bonus symbol in a row on an active payline starting from the left of the screen. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing two rows of 5 cards, the top coloured red and the bottom coloured blue. The first card of the red row is face up. The objective of the game is very simple, you have to guess whether the next card in the row will be lower or higher than the first card. If you don’t like the first card you do have the option to change it to another card, but you are only allowed to do this once. If you manage to guess right for the whole red row you win the Red bonus. If you win the bonus feature ends, if you make a mistake you are allowed to have a go to win the Blue bonus on the second row of cards.
The second bonus feature is activated when three or more ‘Grand Final’ scatter symbol turn up anywhere on the reels. When this happens you’ll be taken to a new screen showing three rows of cards, 4 on the bottom, 3 in the middle and one on the top. The idea is very similar to the Double Chance bonus, the first card of the bottom row is face up and you have to guess whether the next card will be lower or higher. If you make it to the end of the first row your winnings will be doubled, the second row multiplies by 5 and the final card multiplies by 10.
Play your cards right has some fairly decent bonus features and the increasing red and blue jackpots keep you split between wanting to increase the jackpots further and wanting to enter the bonus round. However, at over 6% the house edge could easily be viewed as higher than the game warrants.
