Aramon’s 2014/15 NFL Picks: Week 13 (Monday)

Posted by THEPOGG on Dec 01, 2014

As has been par for the course of late, we won the lesser of the bets once again while losing our larger one. What makes this a difficult pill to swallow may be that if you turned off that Patriot vs Packer game off at halftime to go to bed you would have thought the over to be a sure thing at an already 37 points. But as is painfully obvious and a myriad of circumstances such as dropped TD passes and missed field goals led to an anemic 10 point second half. Such has been our luck. Well tonight has us having the good fortune of virtually wiping the bad taste of that loss out of our mouth. We desperately need a win, and we have an incredible chance tonight with another max bet opportunity. So lets get ready, the ball is about to bounce our way for a much needed win!

On the surface this looks like a game that may be a problem for the Jets. They have struggled severely at the QB position all season long, and have gone back and forth between a young QB in Geno Smith who has been a turnover machine, and Michael Vick who at 34 has seen far better days and has not fared much better. Now as the Miami Dolphins come into New York playing well and fighting fiercely for a playoff spot, the Jets no longer have anything to play for so they are going back to the failed QB experiment called Geno Smith. So as much as this looks like a bad spot for the Jets on the surface, it’s even worse when you look at it closely. The Jets are a mess and have only 2 wins all season and one of those came against the 1 win Raiders in week one. Their pass game is atrocious and even if their run game is not too bad, the passing game and its turnovers constantly puts the Jets in a hole too far for a mediocre running game to help. And while the Jets defense has been good ranking 7th in the league, they can be passed on due to a very weak defensive secondary. Miami QB Ryan Tanehill while not known for putting up big passing numbers, is good at delivering clutch plays and does have a legitimate long ball threat in WR Mike Wallace that no one in the Jet defensive backfield can truly cover. The Dolphins have quitely put together a very good season and recent losses have been very close ones to elite teams such as Green Bay, Detroit, and Denver. In their last 8 games those 3 losses were by an average of just over 3 points. There 5 wins however were by and average of over 20 points. This Jets team is dismal, look for the Dolphins to continue with their 20 point margin of victory.
