Aramon’s 2015/16 NFL Picks: Divisional Playoff Round

Posted by THEPOGG on Jan 17, 2016

Only one big bet last week for the first round of the playoffs, and it paid off well. This season I am trimming the fat in these playoff games and only picking the strongest of plays. This means once again only 1 pick for this weeks divisional round, but its a good one, and an upset as well which should make for a very satisfying day. With what I expect to be a nice win today we will be back to our highest earning point of winnings this season and catapult us into the final weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. So enjoy todays playoff games and even more importantly, lets enjoy cashing in once again!

Sunday’s results : +5.0

Some may think it to be hard to pick against a Carolina team that wen 15-1 this season and led the league in offense as well as having a very good defense. But that’s exactly what we will do with anybody facing thes Seahawks at the moment. Seattle has been on fire to finish the season. It’s almost a carbon copy of what we saw last year from them as they started off slow and finished within one errant play of the winning the SuperBowl. They finished the season 9-2 and and their defense ended the best in the league after struggling the first half. The big difference this season is that the Seattle ofense is far more dynamic and should prove to be a problem for anyone going forward in these playoffs, including Carolina. The Panthers while being a very dominant team have stumbled slightly the last few weeks of the season and have looked vulnerable. They did beat Seattle earlier in the season, but it was at a point when the Seahawks defense was struggling and could not hold a 14 point 4th quarter lead in an otherwise dominant game by the Seattle. It was also before Seattle QB Russell Wilson went on a historic run of incredible play to end the season. While Carolina QB Cam Newton will most likely be the MVP of the league this season, if measuring who is playing better right now, you would have to go with Russell Wilson. Newton is still dangerous and hard to contain because he is such a powerful force as a runner as well as passer, but that is also Wilson’s game, and the Seahawks come into this game with momentum while Carolina had a week off following a couple consecutive flat weeks. I know Seattle is very lucky to be playing today thanks to winning by the Vikings missing an easy 27 yard field goal with just a few seconds left. But it was in brutal conditions and it was not a great match up for Seattle. Today even with a great Carolina team in front of them, I consider this a match up favoring Seattle, and I think the wrong team is favored which makes our picking the Seahawks a very strong play in my opinion.
