Aramon’s 2015/16 NFL Picks: Week 13 (Sunday)

Posted by THEPOGG on Dec 06, 2015

NFL

Well we are on a roll now! Another big win last Sunday has sen our bankrolls get fatter and hopefully put us in the black for good this season. We had a small lull this year which saw us dip slightly, but overall we have had a consistent and decent season. This week allows us to really take advantage of a couple of plays and get us to our high water mark of the season as far as profit and winning percentage goes. Two strong plays once again today should give us a chance to cash in big time and turn a decent run we are having into a great one. So lets get to making that cash!

New York Jets/New York Giants take the over total 0f 46.5 : Bet 5 units

I will start off by saying this is a huge game for both teams. Rarely do the two NY teams play each Other in the regular season, but add to that they are both in the mix fighting for a playoff spot, and they share the same stadium so it has been a raucous week in New York to say the least. This should prove to be quite an exciting and competitive game. In years past both of these teams were known for defense and outside of Giants QB Eli Manning had very little in the way of offensive star power. This season is different however. The Giants although banged up on the offensive line, have such a dynamic scoring offense led by arguably the best and most exciting WR in the league in Odell Beckham. To make matters worse for the Jets, their star cornerback Darrelle Revis who was their best chance of interrupting the Giants star receiver’s chance of exploding for a huge game, is out for a 3rd week due to concussion. The Jets defense is still good but they have struggled with potent offense teams this year giving up close to 30 points a game to any team averaging over 24 points per game. The Jets on the other hand while they should be prone to give it up on defense today, should easily be able to find the end zone with regularity against a very porous Giant defense. The Jets are loaded on offense this season with big time WR’s Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker as well as the beast like rushing of RB Chris Ivory returning to form as of late. Jets QB Ryan Fitzspatrick a career back up and middling starter, has played more than just serviceable this season and actually had one of his best games of his career last week. This is an easy over pick. Had Revis been able to play for the Jets today dependingon the line I may have even leaned towards picking them. But with great offense on both sides today going against suspect and injured defenses, this may be the easiest pick all season to go with the over. Expect this one to be over before the 4th quarter, and enjoy the fireworks show.

New England Patriots/Philadelphia Eagles take the over total 0f 49 : Bet 3 units

If not for the Patriots being so banged up on offense this very well could have seen the very rare close to 60 over/under total. The New England offense is that good, and the Eagles offense is potentially good, but even more to the point, they are just tanking and make good punching bags for good teams. That is still the case today even with what on paper looks like a less formidable Pats offense with major injury scratches in TE Rob Gronkowski, and WR Julian Edelman. What the Patriots do have however is all time great QB Tom Brady playing at his best, and the best coach in the league in Bill Belichick. It also looks as if another of Brady’s favorite targets WR Danny Amendola will be back in the lineup today which will make things a little easier for this Patriots offense. It also doesn’t hurt that this Philly team is in total disarray. The team is in turmoil seemingly haven given up on coach Chip Kelly’s system and even with a chance to possibly make a playoff push in a weak NFC east division, still seem to be putting in lackluster effort as the season starts to slip away from them. With all this being said a win today for Philly combined with a Giants loss against the Jets would throw them right back into a position to salvage a volatile season. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think they will, but it may just enough motivation to put up a few points today. I don’t think they will need much as I think the Patriots could pull fans out of the stands today to play offense for them and still close to 40 points against the Eagles. With the Eagles unable to stop Brady and company, and with Philly possibly finding a bit of motivation to keep their season relevant, I see this point total going over with very little problem. I don’t expect a highly competitive game, but expect lots of points.
