Aramon’s 2015/16 NFL Picks: Wildcard Playoff Round

Posted by THEPOGG in Blog.

NFL

Well it’s been awhile since we’ve had a disappointing week, but the last week of the regular season was just that unfortunately. We went 0-2 and just wiffed on the games. It happens occasionally, but even with the loss we have still made over 10% on our bankroll and have some real nice playoff games in the weeks ahead to add to it. I think we have a real nice play with today’s games that should bounce us right back up close once again to high water mark status. The lines tend to get tight for the playoffs, but there is still so much sentiment towards previous years playoff history that the teams as currently constructed don’t match the public perception driving some of these lines. So, I think we found the chink in the armor today that will allow us to cash in on nicely. So sit back today and enjoy some good entertaning NFL playoff football!

This game being played in Minnesota today looks to be played in the top 10 of coldest temperatures in NFL history. While both teams will have to play in this, as currently constructed, this will favor the Minnesota Vikings style of play. A year ago this would be a far different game with Seattle being a huge favorite. Historically frigid temps like that of today’s game favors a strong running game and usually hinders the passing game. In the past this would favor Seattle’s game, but with their running game seriously depleted due to the absence of their beast mode running back Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawks have turned to QB Russell Wilson to carry the offense. Wilson has done a fantastic job over the last couple of months of just doing that too, but Seattle’s defense is no longer the juggernaut it once was, and the Vikings are going to run the ball very effectively with their NFL top rusher star Adrian Peterson. In a game where I think the QB edge Seattle has over the Vikings will be neutralized due to the weather, I think the combination of the Vikes running game and home field advantage will keep this game not only close for them, may win them the game out right. This is a good Vikings team that will look even better in a matchup in arctic like temps that will slow down a Seattle offense that resembles nothing of the squad that went to the SuperBowl last season. I believe this game has a line not close to what should conspire on the field today, and I believe Adrian Peterson will play a major role in proving this point. This Vikings team is a tough out, and today will show that this is a far different season for both teams than a year ago.
