A little slip up this Sunday, but very manageable. Some strange outcomes totally out of character did us in as far as winning the day yesterday, but with a nice win Thursday and a hopeful win tonight, we will pull together another positive week. Thinks are getting dicey these last couple of weeks as far as how teams perform and what they’re playing for. I actually like this, and tonight is a perfect opportunity why. A few weeks ago I wouldn’t have touched this game with a 10 foot pole, tonight I love it. Go figure.
A recap of Sunday’s result and where we stand to date:
|Sunday’s results :
|10% house vig on losses :
|Total to date :
||+49.8 units profit
For information purposes the betting size suggested is based on a bankroll of 100 units. So if you had a bankroll of £1000 and the suggested bet was 5 units, simply divide £1000 by 100 (=£10) and multiply that by 5 (=£50). A running total will be kept at the top of each pick article so that you can keep track of how well/poorly Aramon is doing this season.
Tonight’s Games as I see it:
For those not familiar with sportsbetting when a number is shown next to a team’s name that number represents the handicap for an even money wager. So in our first pick of this week the New York Jets would have to beat the Tennessee Titans by more than 1 point for us to win this bet. So place this wager at any book that offers an even money wager with the Patriots handicapped by 1 point or less.
New York Jets -1 over Tennessee Titans : Bet 5 units
Result : New York Jets 10 – 14 Tennessee Titans
All one had to do was watch the Jets Thanksgiving Day massacre at the hands of the Patriots to know this team was done, right? Wrong. Unbelievably the Jets still have a slight playoff chance, and with 2 wins in a row they are very capable of winning out their schedule to help their cause. Aside from the Patriot debacle they are winners of 3 out of their last 4 and have actually fed off the weaker teams. And make no mistake about it the Titans are a weak team. Having been officially eliminated from the playoffs last week these Tennessee Titans are on a 1-5 skid, that’s straight up as well as against the point spread. Titans 2nd year quarterback Jake Locker has been awful, and their star running back Chris Johnson seems to have packed it in as his numbers have steadily declined the past 3 games as it became apparent the Titans couldn’t contend this season. Oddly enough the Jets who have been the butt of many jokes this season, seem to lately have found a fairly effective ground and pound style of play that they’ve been looking for all season. The Jets for the most part have pulled the ball out of turnover prone Quarterback Mark Sanchez’s hands, and have been running the ball with much success with Shonn Greene, and recently incorporating their other young dynamic young running back Bilal Powell as well. The Jet defense has really stiffened up as well only giving up a total of 16 points in the last 2 games. Although the Jets have struggled to score points this year, this week finds them playing a Titans team ranked 2nd to last in the league in points allowed per game (29.7) this year. With a ball hungry defense and a solid running game, the Jets match up extremely well with this weak Titan defense and should finally score some real points. This is a good spot for the Jets and they need it. They need to win these last 3 games to get into the post season, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They will pull out all the stops, while the Titans look like they are ready to just go home and try again next year. Just a couple of more notes on these Jets. As I have said they have won their last 2 in a row, but more importantly to us they have covered the point spread in 4 out of 5 of their last road games, and they have beat up on teams with losing records covering 11 out of 16 vs. teams under .500.
