5PlusBet came to our attention as a result of a complaint submitted by a player. The operator failed to pay a €60k balance. The grounds for non-payment were varied and all equally invalid. The claims were as follows:

  • That they did not accept German players, despite there site being developed to display German specific content to visitors from Germany.
  • That the player had provided "false" registration details in the form of an email address. The 5PlusBet registration system requires email verification, so the email provided may be out of date but was not false.
  • That the player was a gambling addict (based on a complaint found on this site( and therefore prohibited from joining. The operator was surmising details that they cannot state as fact.
  • That the player had multiple accounts. The operator was aware of and had approved the player having both accounts before the win occurred.

Our opinion is that the operator was simply looking for ways to get out of paying a significant win.

When the complaint was submitted to 5PlusBet's regulator, the regulator sadly chose to regurgitate the same invalid grounds for non-payment that the operator had provided.
