Overview

Based in the Republic of Panama, Top Game software is a very new company only founded about a decade ago in 2008. They are currently one of the smaller software providers and cater primarily to online casinos that they also own, but do cater to a few clients who they provide customer support for alongside software.

Top Game, or referred to as TopGame, offer a download only gaming platform. The software is very fast to download and offers fairly high quality graphics. Game play is fast, however there do seem to be some connectivity issues as some game regularly stall while the software ‘Connects to Server’.

All Top Game casinos offer an instant chat facility that is constantly pinned to the right hand side of the screen. This is usually answered very quickly and is a real plus side to this software.

Game selection is poor overall with a very limited variety of table games, few variations of Video Poker and a few dozen slots games. It’s fairly easy to see where Top Game would like you to do your wagering.

There few blackjack games all offer basic strategy charts – a chart defining the mathematically best play that the player can make for any given player hand and dealer upcard – which would be a huge positive and a step that all online casino providers should follow. It would be a huge positive if it were not for the fact that the strategy tables they offer are wrong.

Similarly their Video Poker autohold is very poor, making incorrect suggestions on which cards the player should hold on pretty much the majority of hands! This is a very poor effort especially given that the correct strategies for all the games and paytables they offer are widely available. It is better to offer no advice at all than bad advice.

Unfortunately Top Game casino have a poor reputation within the online casino industry, primarily for what seems to be bumbling errors. Between poor implementation of their software and customer service staff that have been known to behave in highly unprofessional manners during conversations with customers the list is long. Alongside that however has been their weak handling of game related complaints, where technical glitches that have adversely affected players have been reported to the casinos involved and the software providers and yet the games continues to be available for weeks after the reports have been confirmed.

This all adds up to alarming questions about the incorrect strategy advice offered for both blackjack and video poker – is this simply a case of the game designer not knowing the correct strategy or is this a deliberate attempt to mislead players into making poor choices when playing strategy based games.

The bottom line is that if you decide to sign up to a casino using Top Game software, be very wary and do not be surprised if you encounter issues down the line. The largest and best known of the Top Game casinos – Rome Casino – appear to be making some in-house changes and for a time were very positively receptive to third party dispute mediation – which was a huge improvement – but after the huge volume of player issues they now appear to have withdrawn for dealing with 3rd party mediators.
