Bell Fruit - Allowed to open duplicate account despite self exclusion

Ruling

Found for the Casino - Where you self-exclude with an operator you need to ensure you do not re-register under different details as the exclusion won't carry over.

Player's Complaint

Admiral casino previously bell fruit

I have many casino accounts and accidentally opened a duplicate acc with admiral casinowhich was previously bell fruit. My name on the 2nd account was [EDIT] - which is as it is on my debit card which I used to deposit, but on my old account it was [EDIT]. My email was a new address so different to old one. Other that that all other details were exactly the same Date of birth [EDIT], address [EDIT], tel [EDIT]. Even the card I was depositing with was the same. So they were allowing me to deposit even though I previously has a self exclusion. They closed my account when I was on a chat to them and my alternative email address came up. So I would like to claim my deposits back as had I wanted to withdraw they would of never paid out. I have contacted them and they have basically said my account was opened fraudulently and I went against their terms and conditions so they won't refund me.

I appreciate any advice in this matter

Kind regards

Hi dobbo30 - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help you in this instance.

The UKGC run a national self-exclusion scheme called Gamstop. Reviewing the terms of use of Gamstop you'll find the below:

"GAMSTOP may not be able to spot inaccuracies or other differences in account details, and we may not be able to prevent you accessing accounts you have created using, for example, email addresses that you have not provided to us as part of the registration process."

What we can discern from the above is that the UKGC run self-exclusion scheme acknowledges that where you use different details to register with to those you self-excluded under the system may not function. It also specifically highlights changes to email addresses as problematic.

Given that the UKGC run scheme makes exceptions under these circumstances, if you have signed-up under different details an operator would not be expected to detect your registration as associated with a self-excluded account.

Sorry we cannot be of further help.
