Betfair – Account Closure and Fund Confiscation


Found for the Player - As has become standard for this group of operators, Betfair have offered no response what-so-ever to this complaint.

Player's Complaint

I had $8922.29 in my account. I received a mail from Betfair that my account has been closed on business grounds and in line with T&C. However , net deposits of $2504.03 will be returned to my Neteller.

I received these funds on next two days , however the remaining $6418.26 were not sent to me at all.

When I contacted them regarding this , they said the management on a review has decided to retain my funds and will not return them.

I have neither committed any fraud , illegal activity or breached any of their T&C.

All of my winnings are from exchange bets only and I've not earned a single dollar from Betfair itself. Rather I've paid thousands in their exchange commission.

Please help me in recovering this amount. This amount will bring me close to bankruptcy if not recovered.

Unfortunately it is unlikely we will be able to do anything to help you in this instances. Betfair are negatively listed with this service and have historically been non-responsive to complaints submitted to this service. While we will try to contact the operator on your behalf the chances of a successful mediation are low.

Betfair have responded to us and informed us that they will not discuss this, or any other, issue with this service.

All we can do at this stage is suggest that you contact Betfair's ADR IBAS. Alternatively if you wished to pursue legal action our understanding is that offer a no win no fee service that specialises in online gambling disputes.
