Gala Bingo - Self exclusion

Player's Complaint

I have been excluded from gala bingo site due to having a lifetime self exclusion with party poker. However, prior to this they have let me have a net deposit of over £29,000, Over 4 months. I am only on £18,000 a year.

I understand that the deposits are partially my fault, however during a time of weakness I was going through websites to see if I was able to register, I couldn’t apart from gala bingo who informed me my previous self exclusion with them was up and I could reactivate - which I did.

However, this should not have been able to happen due to my lifetime self exclusion with partypoker - which they are now shut my gala account over there words where ‘We have raised your concern to our Responsible Gambling Department who advised that the Sporting Bet account was closed as it was found to be linked to a Party Poker account, which was given a permanent self-exclusion.

The only thing that had changed is my address. My email address, name, date of birth etc should have been the same.

I also went from deposit £10’s and £50’s to £1000’s at a time.

I do not feel that gala bingo has used reasonable steps to prevent this from happening and in result I am not suffering severe financial hardship and mental health issues.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help you in this instance. The UKGC reserve management of this type of complaint issue to their own team. All we could do is suggest you contact the regulator.

You may find our free Responsible Gambling app BetBlocker useful. It allows users to restrict their internet capable devices from accessing over 12k gambling operator websites for between 24 hours and 5 years.
