Leo Vegas – Deposit Limit

Ruling

Found for the Casino - There is no evidence to support the player having put a deposit limit in place. As such we have no grounds to support their claim.

Player's Complaint

Not sure if you can help I have already reached out to leovegas. Sunday night I signed up to leovegas and as any site I set my deposit limit on sign up. I played through my 500 limit and then fell asleep for a while. Apparently after this I then woke up and deposited a further £8300 in just over an hour. I admit I have very little recollection of how I spent this. The reason for me setting up the limit is I have in the past while not entirely with it or half asleep spent money and not remembered doing it.

In the morning I rang leovegas as obviously I was shocked the lady on the phone [EDIT] informed me that I had had a live chat last night asking about the deposit limit and one had not been placed. I did not receive a copy of this live chat.

Hi Numbergames - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

My first thought with regard to this is that if you have a sleep condition that results in your engaging in complex activities with a diminished sense of responsibility and no recollection of the events, a deposit limit isn't likely to be that much of a barrier. Surely it's not that much more difficult to open an account with a new operator and play than it is to log in, deposit and play for an extended period?

In my opinion you should be looking to put software on all of your internet capable devices that will prevent you accessing any gambling sites what-so-ever. You can find more information about said filtering systems on our Responsible Gambling page.

With regard to your claim - I'll speak to the operator but effectively this all comes down to whether you actually have set up a deposit limit or not. Saying you're sure isn't enough to have a valid claim as there's clear financial incentive for you to say this after a loss. There has to be some degree of evidence to support this claim.

I'll revert to you once I've spoken to the operator.

Thanks,

ThePOGG

Hi Numbergames,

There have been some changes in staff at LeoVegas and it's taken me a while to contact the relevant team member to manage this issue.

Before we can move this conversation forward I need you to send an email to forum[@]leovegas.com confirming that you provide permission for LeoVegas to discuss your account with representatives of ThePOGG.com. Please CC webmaster@thepogg.com so we can confirm when this mail is sent.

Thanks,

ThePOGG

Hi Numbergames,

I've reviewed your account information provided by LeoVegas. Unfortunately there's no evidence that you tried to set any of the Responsible Gambling limits offered by the operators.

In this instance all I can suggest is installing some software intended to prevent you from accessing online gambling services so this issue with your sleep doesn't occur again.

Sorry we couldn't be of more help,

ThePOGG

Thanks for your time and also the leovegas rep. I downloaded the software shortly after the incident anyway.
Understand there is nothing you can do as if I really didn't set limits then it is my fault no-one elses

Hi Numbergames,

I appreciate your understanding with regard to this issue. Having looked I can't find any evidence to support you having put a limit in place.

I'm glad to hear you've got some preventative software installed now and with the greatest of respect I hope not to see you here again!

I wish you the best of success with your life moving forward.

Thanks logged I hope not to see you again too. I do feel it necessary to say that the contact I have had from leo Vegas has been nothing short of excellent and I would not want others to be put off from that site. The only reason I queried this was I didn't have written confirmation. I am 100% satisfied that leovegas are correct and again the support from their staff has been exemplary this was my fault not theirs and as far as I am concerned they are a an excellent platform to use.
