SlotBoss – Self Exclusion

Ruling

Found for the Casino - The Gamstop terms of use are clear and if you register under an email address that is different to that you gave Gamstop the system may fail.

Player's Complaint

I had registered with Gamstop but weeks later I was allowed to open an account with Slotboss who belong to the LeoVegas group (they come under Gamstop list of gambling companies), and spend £700 in 24 hours. I have sent my details from Gamstop to Slotboss but have only had a courtesy email saying thank you for your details. Can you help?

Hi lmeaki - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

Before going any further - did you use different details when registering with SlotBoss and GamStop?

Thanks,

My name, date of birth, telephone number and address was exactly the same. I have two email addresses registered with Gamstop which are [EDIT] and [EDIT]. My email for Slotboss was [EDIT] but the @me and @icloud are the same used by Apple users and any emails being sent to either of these emails will be sent to the same email account. Though if my name, date of birth and address are the same then surely this would still stop them from letting me open an account with them 1-2 weeks after registering with Gamstop?

Hi lmeaki,

Unfortunately one of the primary fields used to identify account matches is email address. The GamStop terms of use with respect to this are as follows:

"During your self-exclusion, you will be prevented from accessing any accounts with online gambling operators registered with the Gambling Commission that match the details you have provided to us as part of your application. It is in your interest to provide us with accurate details consistent with those which you have used to set up accounts with online gambling operators. GAMSTOP may not be able to spot inaccuracies or other differences in account details, and we may not be able to prevent you accessing accounts you have created using, for example, email addresses that you have not provided to us as part of the registration process. GAMSTOP will operate on the basis of the information you have provided at registration and we will not be responsible for failure to spot errors made on your part."

GamStop specifically highlights in their terms of use that if you register with a casino under an email address you haven't provided to them that the system may not work.

All I can suggest is that you make sure you inform GamStop of ALL your email addresses if you want the system to function correctly in future.

Sorry we could not be of more help!
