Player's Complaint

Not allowing a deposit limit to be applied on the account as per the gambling commissioners guidelines for remote gaming. I have evidence of this plus other communication that can be sent over.

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately you do not have a valid claim in this instance.

The LCCP makes the following statements with regard to the provision of tools to assist players in controlling their gambling:

"3.3.1 Licensees must make information readily available to their customers on how to gamble responsibly and how to access information about, and help in respect of, problem gambling.

3.3.2 The information must cover:

a any measures provided by the licensee to help individuals monitor or control their gambling, such as restricting the duration of a gambling session or the amount of money they can spend

b timers or other forms of reminders or ‘reality checks’ where available."

The above does not stipulate exactly what tools the operator is required to provide and as such there is variation in the tools being offered by different providers and this would not constitute a breach of license conditions.

Further to this, while Live Chat may not have been available at the specific point in time where you wanted to apply a deposit limit, having tested the Zodiac account system, options to lock your account from anywhere between 24 hours and 5 years are available. That being the case you could have applied a Time Out or Self-Exclusion that would have resulted in the same inability to deposit further funds that you were looking for with a Deposit Limit.
