LeoVegas at Halloween

Posted by Glenn Baird on Oct 28, 2020

With only days to go until Halloween we thought it was only right to take a look at the spooktactular delights that LeoVegas has had to offer in the run up to the big day.

There is no getting away from the fact that if you want a steady stream of quality slots hitting casinos over a short but sustained period of time then the best place to start has to be October. This is because something creeps into the creative blood of slot designers all over the world as they get nearer to Halloween.

Some of my all time favourite slots have been released in the run up to Halloween. Immortal Romance, Blood Suckers, Wolf Hunters and Halloween Jack are just a few that spring to mind. Slots that still hold their own today and are played the entire year round.

But as with all things popular and with all good ideas, everyone wants a piece of the pie and this can often mean that the market becomes saturated with sub standard slots. Template games that have symbols adjusted to meet the needs of the season are far too common and are also, quite frankly something we would like to see you avoid.

Crawling through the most recent slots in the LeoVegas casino lobby you will see plenty of options, but which ones are the best? Which ones deserve not only your time but your hard-earned cash?

We’ve found 5 that we think are keepers, hopefully you can find a space before Hallows Eve to check them out too.

5. Dark King: Forbidden Riches

What’s that? A Net Entertainment slot, released at Halloween. Then it must be an absolute classic, right? Well, not quite. I like the Dark King: Forbidden Riches slot because it looks amazing. I also like it because it’s better most other Halloween slots that you can play at LeoVegas right now. But, and this feels almost crazy to be saying this, it is my least favourite on this list. You get Free Spins and they come with a modifier that allows for sticky Wilds and you get Wilds that come with multipliers. That makes it better than most slots, but only good enough for number 5 on this list.

4. Curse of the Werewolf Megaways

The Curse of the Werewolf Megaways slot may have been released in the heady days of early September when summer was still capable of making an appearance but it still makes the grade for me, sneaking into the cut by the skin of its very pointy teeth. The developers have teamed up with Big Time Gaming, yet again, to bring us a slot with the Megaways mechanic, something that ensures fun on every spin. You get Free Spins and Wilds, plus a few random features. Your Free Spins come with an interesting inside game too. I would have liked to see a little more in terms of ingenuity here, but with a low house edge this is still a slot that ticks many of our boxes.

3. Phantasmic Fortunes

This iSoftBet slot snuck up on me after I discovered it on the LeoVegas lobby but not on the iSoftBet site. All of which is a travesty and something that the site master over at iSoftBet needs to get sorted. If you know anything about iSoftBet slots then you should be expecting this one to look spectacular. And guess, what? It does. The Phantasmic Fortunes slot has a complex and exciting theme. One that melds dark magic and circuses, along with 1 stunning central feature. Along with that expanding reel feature there are 3 different Free Spins games to play, along with a random prize modifier and your standard Wild symbols.

2. Hades Gigablox

Yggdrasil have released a few iffy slots of late, but this one sees them back on form dealing with the sort of hugely impressive themes that they are so good with. The Hades Gigablox slot looks as epic as the Greek mythology it borrows from and I like the fact that you get to cheer on the bad guy for a change. You might only have 2 features but the Hades Wild Hunt feature is super engaging and the fact that it happens on every one of your Free Spins is a massive bonus. You do also get to experience the Gigablox mechanic, which is a nice little bonus.

1. Wild Walker

I don’t know when it was that Zombies had reached their peak in popularity. The 70s, with the release of genre classics like “Night of the Living Dead” (actually the 60s) and “Dawn of the Dead”? Maybe the release of the “Walking Dead”. It’s hard to tell, but like all crazes that come and go, true connoisseurs of the undead know a classic when they see one. And this, as far as slots go, is right up there with the likes of Lost Vegas. The Wild Walker slot looks fantastic, but then again, what Pragmatic Play slot doesn’t these days? There might not be a huge number of features but that roaming Wild that is present on every single spin is a fantastic touch, one that makes you feel as if there is a chance you can win something on every spin. The Free Spins have lots of potential for big wins too, if you can make your way through the levels. Add to this a low house edge, the lowest on this list, and you have a worthy winner of our much coveted number one spot.
