The Ancient Egypt: Classic slot game can be found at casinos offering Pragmatic Play software. Pragmatic Play are one of the newer slots game developers on the market but their products are polished and professional in feel and operation. As a standard Pragmatic Play do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their game help file. For a provider that are not currently licensed within the UK market and therefore are under no obligation to publish these figures this is a significantly progressive move. The House Edge of Ancient Egypt: Classic is 3.53%.
Ancient Egypt: Classic is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 10 standard paylines, playing from left to right.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Golden Scarab Beetle”, substituting for all symbols. This is also the game’s Scatter symbols and it comes with a multiplier, making it by far the most important symbol in the game. 3 as part of a winning payline are worth x2 the total bet, 4 are worth x20 the total bet and if you can land 5 as part of a winning payline, the bet will be multiplied by 200. 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature.
Free Spins – Landing 3 or more “Golden Scarab Beetle” symbols anywhere on the reels will award you 10 free spins. Before the Free Spins start a symbol will be chosen at random which when landing on the reels will expand to fill them. This will only happen if there are enough symbols for a win present when the reels stop spinning. Free Spins can be re-triggered and there is no limit to the number of re-triggers that you can get.
Ancient Egypt: Classic, is newest version of an older game by Pragmatic Play called, surprisingly enough, Ancient Egypt. The key symbols in both games are almost identical and the background is pretty much the same too. There is some variation with the numbers on offer though. In this version the “Golden Scarab Beetle” symbol is much more important as it triggers everything of note and is worth much more than it was in the original game. Unfortunately, this time round there is no bonus round to speak of but there are Free Spins, something that was lacking in the original. All things considered, I would say that this is a better game, although the margins are very fine. Fine enough that some might argue that a brand new game, offering something completely different would have been a more worth while addition. The most important improvement has to be the house edge, which is down by just enough for us to consider this game reasonable value for money, whilst the original was a little on the expensive side. So, if you are going to play an Ancient Egypt game and if it has to be an offering from Pragmatic Play, then look no further than this most recent installment.
