Twisted Sister Slot Review

Released: June 2020

The Twisted Sister slot game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a well-stablished software provider, with some of the most popular slots in the industry sitting in their back-catalogue. They offer a full casino platform, but their primary focus is in providing slots, with a new title released, roughly every week. Play ‘n Go publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files, but you won’t always find that information on their website and may have to wait until you can play the slot for real. However, in this instance we know that the house edge for Twisted Sister is 3.8%.

Twisted Sister slot has 6 reels and each reel is 6 symbols high. Instead of paylines you form clusters of 5 or more matching symbols when they touch each other either vertically or horizontally.

Avalanches – Following a win, all the symbols involved will be removed from the reels and remaining symbols will drop down into the spaces below before new symbols are added at the top of the reels, giving you another chance to win. This process will continue as long as you continue to land winning combinations.

Theme

The theme here is rock music, with an 80s twist. Twisted Sister were one of the biggest and most controversial bands of the decade, inspiring as much fear into mum and dad as Slipknot did at the turn of the century. These androgynous guitar wielding giants of rock also happen to have a few very well-known tracks in their back catalogue and you’ll get to hear them and play the features inspired by their lyrics.

Special Symbols

Wild – The Wild symbol will substitute for all symbols other than Wild Scatters.

Wild Scatters – The “Angry Dad” symbol is the Wild Scatter. They will act as Wilds and they will be added to the Wild Meter every time they contribute to a winning combination. Once the Wild Meter has been filled with 4 “Angry Dad” symbols you will trigger the “We’re Not Gonna Make It” feature.

Features

Guitar Charge Meter and Band Features

Every time you form a winning combination with Band Member symbols each of the symbols involved will fill up one space on the Guitar Meter. It is worth noting that Wilds do not contribute. For every five spaces you fill on the meter you will have 1 of the Band features trigger. Once you fail to land any more avalanches the meter will trigger whatever level it is on. If following the meter triggering you have at least 5 spaces filled in the meter then another Band Feature will trigger, a process that will continue as long as the meter keep refilling up to 5 spaces. The feature that triggers will be chosen at random and each one is explained below:

Scream – This feature will destroy all non-band-member symbols that are around the selected symbols.

Go Wild – This will transform selected symbols into Wilds.

Unite – This will transform all symbols into the selected symbols.

We’re Not Gonna Make It – Once you have filled the “Wild Meter” with at least 4 “Angry Dad” symbols you will trigger the “We’re Not Gonna Make It” feature. Any additional “Angry Dad” symbols will increase the win multiplier by 1. During this feature a giant “Mega Band” symbol is added to the reels. This symbol counts as 4 band symbols and will match up with any of the standard band symbols. The Mega Band symbol will move towards an “Angry Dad” symbol with each spin and each time it does so it will take an “Angry Dad” symbol out as part of an automatic win, before the “Angry Dad” symbol disappears off the reels. Once all the “Angry Dad” symbols are gone the feature will end. No additional “Angry Dad” symbols will be added during the feature.

Conclusion

Play ‘n’ Go continue their affiliation with rock bands by bring this slot based on the 80s band Twisted Sister. This is arguably the biggest, most popular band that they have done with to date and I would go as far as to say it is their most successful attempt. Up until now I would have given that accolade to Black Mamba, but for my money Twisted Sister edges that thanks to the slot design and the brilliant way that the features tie in with the band. The “Angry Dad” symbol is genius as is the Mega Band symbol that chases him. There are meters, there are random feature and there are clusters. Even if you are not a fan of the band, I don’t see that putting you off and if you are a fan then this should be your new favourite slot. Add to this a standard house edge and you have one of the best slots of 2020.
