The 4 Seasons Life slots game is produced by BetSoft. BetSoft are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and have recently started offering their own casino platform. The company was founded in 2006, entering the slots market 4 years later. Betsoft do not always publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files, meaning that we often need to refer to RTP provided by an operator. As such we know that the house edge for The 4 Seasons is 5%.
The 4 Seasons game has 5 reels and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, 30 in total, playing from left to right.
Wild – The “Golden Cat” symbol is Wild, substituting for all symbols other than Free Spins. It is also the game’s most valuable, with 5 as part of a winning payline paying out 10000 coins.
Free Spins – The “Ying Yang” is the Free Spins symbol. 3 or more of them will trigger the Free Spins feature.
Free Spins – The number of “Golden Cat” symbols that you reveal will determine how many Free Spins you receive. 3 “Golden Cat” symbols will win you 8 Free Spins. 4 “Golden Cat” symbols will win you 12 Free Spins. 5 “Golden Cat” symbols will win you 20 Free Spins.
Seasonal Wheel – At the bottom of the screen on the left-hand side is a wheel with all of the game’s symbols on it. Every 30 Spins that you make the symbol on the wheel will move one space to the right, with the arrow landing on a new animal. That animal is the Golden Animal and will be worth x10 the bet when you win with it on the reels. Each animal to the left and right of the Golden Animal is known as a Silver Animal and is worth x5 the bet. Whilst the 3 animals to the left and right of the Silver Animals are known as the Bronze Animals and will pay out x2 the bet. Every 90 spins the order of the animals will change to signal the change of a new season.
Block Win Combos - Any of the symbols can appear stacked. If you can achieve this on subsequent reels with matching symbols then a multiplier will be activated. This goes from 2x to 10x, so it’s worth watching out for. 2 reels = x2 multiplier; 3 reels = x3 multiplier; 4 reels = x5 multiplier; 5 reels = x10 multiplier.
Double Up – After any win you can risk what you have earned by pressing the Double Up button. You bet half or all of your winnings and will win or lose based on the toss of a coin. You can attempt to double up as often as you like until you lose.
4 seasons in 360 spins means you’ll be able to take all 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac on a spin through the 4 Seasons reels. The game looks good, certainly as good as any Chinese Zodiac themed game I’ve seen recently. The symbols have a cute cartoonish quality to them, whilst the background is a typically lush oriental setting. The features are relatively interesting and inventive, but the house edge is too high for any of that to really matter. Unfortunately the game just is not good enough to make up for the lack of value that it presents.
