The Ancient Troy game can be found at casinos offering Endorphina software. Endorphina are one of the newer casino software providers on the market but they have managed to gain distribution with some of the largest casino networks currently active within the market. As a standard Endorphina do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help file or paytables. As a software provider not licensed in the UK, and as such not required to publish this information, this is a significantly player friendly practice. As such we can state that the Ancient Troy House Edge is 4.00%.
Ancient Troy is a 5 reel slots game and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses 25 paylines, playing from left to right.
Wild– The “Trojan Horse” is the Wild symbol, substituting for all symbols except Scatters. The Wild symbol is also one of the most valuable in the game with 3 as part of a winning payline earning you 100 times the bet, 4 earning you 500 times the bet and 5 earning you 100 times the bet.
Scatter – The “City of Troy” is the game’s Scatter symbol. Three or more of them, anywhere on the reels will award you with 10 Free Spins. The Scatter symbol also happens to be one of the most valuable in the game with 3 anywhere on the reels earning you 50 times the bet, 4 earning you 500 times the bet and 5 earning you 1000 times the bet.
Free Spins – Once you have triggered the Free Spins by landing 3 or more of the Scatter symbols you will be awarded 10 Free Spins. During the Free Spins there will be 2 stacked symbols. These will be either “Helen of Troy” who acts as a Wild, “Agamemnon” who acts as a x2 multiplier or “Achilles” who acts as a x3 multiplier.
Take Risk – Whilst you might not necessarily class this as a bonus feature, it does play a significant role in the gaming experience. With every win you get the chance to try and double your win by trying your luck in a game of “Play Your Cards Right” with the game’s dealer. If you can flip over a card that is higher than the one the dealer is showing you will double your win. Flip a card that is lower than the dealer’s and you lose the lot. This round continues until you either choose to stop gambling or you lose out to the dealer. In the result of a tie, no one wins.
Ancient Troy is the first game I have seen to take advantage of this particular theme. The game has been well designed, containing some excellent looking, high paying symbols, with each of the key characters from the legend easy to identify. You get a few features; from free spins to wilds, but nothing you haven’t seen before in other games. The house edge is slightly higher than we would have hoped for, sitting at the edge of what we would consider to be value for money. If the theme intrigues you then this game might be worth a quick look.
