Arthur's Quest Slot Review

Arthur's Quest is a Chartwell game. Chartwell appears to have closed down with the casinos offering their games standing alone with no further updates. Chartwell do not as standard release the house edge information of their games. However some of the casinos offering Chartwell games have started releasing this information. Doxx lists the house edge of Arthur's Quest as 6%. When playing at other venues this figure should be treated as a guideline only as the game may be configurable.

Help King Arthur in his quest to unite the Britons and bring peace to the land. Along the way you’ll be joined by Guinevere and Merlin whose magic could make all the difference.

This game is a 5 reel game, with 9 paylines and you can bet up to 5 coins on each payline.

There are three bonus features when playing Arthur’s Quest. The first is activated when you get three or more of the ‘Guinevere’ bonus symbol on adjacent reels. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen displaying flies over a frog pond. The flies will slowly disappear until there is only one left at which point the frog at the side of the screen will eat it giving you a multiplier bonus at the same time. There is no interactivity in this bonus feature – nothing the player does affect the outcome in any way - and as such it seems a little pointless.

The second bonus feature is activated when you get three or more of the ‘Arthur’ bonus symbol on adjacent reels. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen displaying a stone with lots of swords protruding from it. You are allowed to start pulling the swords from the stone, each sword awarding you a bonus multiplier until you pull a sword that says ‘Finish’ at which point the bonus round ends. If you pull the Finish sword first, you will be awarded the multipliers for all the swords.

The third bonus feature is activated when you get three or more of the ‘Merlin’ bonus symbol on adjacent reels. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen displaying Merlin’s spell book. You choose one of the four spells and are awarded a bonus multiplier.

Conclusion

Putting aside for a moment the lack of house edge information which is a real negative, this game has some of the weakest graphic of any slot game we’ve reviewed, being little better than a primary school art class, and the bonus features are disappointingly uninteresting. Overall a fairly poor effort.
