The Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair slot game can be found at casinos offering Thunderkick software. Thunderkick are one of the newer slots game developers on the market but their products are polished and professional in feel and operation. As a standard Thunderkick do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their game help file. As a standard Thunderkick do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within their game help file and as such we know that the House Edge of Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair is 3.88%.
Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair is a 5 reel slot that is 3 symbols high. You form wins across paylines, with 9 in total, playing from left to right.
Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair is a Jules Verne themed slot, taking you thousands of leagues under the sea and into the home of the terrifying Kraken. As such you can expect to see plenty of nautical symbols and the background is as you might next the bottom of the sea.
Wild/ Scatter – The “Kraken Emblem” is both a Wild symbol and a Scatter, meaning it will substitute for all other symbols, it will pay out regardless of paylines and it will trigger the Free Spins if you can land 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels at once. It also happens to be the most valuable symbol in the game.
Expanding Win – The Expanding Win feature occurs when you form a win using a “Kraken Emblem” symbol. When this happens the other symbols involved will expand to fill the reel they sit on.
Free Spins – If you trigger the Free Spins then you will get 10 in total and for each spin a “Kraken Emblem” will be added to one of the reels. The feature can be retriggered in the same way it was triggered in the first place.
Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair is a decent looking slot, but one that I can’t help but feel is missing something somewhere in its design. You get Free Spins and a Wild symbol and that Wild symbol is also a Scatter. You get expanding symbols when your Wild forms a win and you can retrigger the Free Spins. The house edge offers decent enough value for money but when everything is taken into account I don’t think it is a coincidence that I have used the word decent on to separate occasions in this conclusion.
