William Hill - Account Hacked

Ruling

Resolved - This player has managed to resolve their issue with William Hill without our intervention. William Hill were non-responsive to our contacts.

Player's Complaint

I used William Hill online gambling site. At 20:05 on 30/12/2018, 5 bets were placed on my account that were not made by me. As a result I have lost £2450.

I spoke to William Hill who said they investigated but saw no evidence of unauthorized access. However, I've never played that game before (it's a different roulette game to the one I usually play), never placed such large bets in that way and when I looked at it, it said there were bets placed on 0 green at £100 which I have never done and is completely against my usual pattern of betting.

They say they've finished their investigations, but I do not know how this is the case as it was definitely not me who placed these bets.

They said the IP address for those 5 bets are ones that were the same for the others. I do not know how this is possible as no one in the house can use my PC and they don't gamble.

I have got a word document with the screenshot and live conversations I've had so far - do I email these to you?

Thanks for your help.

Hi accounthelp - welcome to ThePOGG.com!

Unfortunately it is unlikely we will be able to help you in this situation.

Firstly William Hill have been consistently non-cooperative in the management of complaints submitted to this service. We will contact the operator it is highly unlike they will change this policy.

Secondly, if the operator do respond and can demonstrate that the contested wagers were placed from your IP address, there would be nothing we could do to help you. At that juncture those bets have been placed by you or someone using your internet connection at which point terms and conditions stipulating that you are responsible for keeping your account details secure come into play.

Thanks,

ThePOGG
