Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Golden Ark”, which substitutes for all symbols other than Multiplier Booster symbols and only appears on reels 2-4.
Multiplier Booster Symbol – The Multiplier Booster symbol is a “Pyramid” and it only appears on reel 5. When it does appear it will add one to the Multiplier in the top right hand corner of the screen and any wins will be multiplied by that number. More than one Multiplier Booster symbols can appear on reel 5, which would further increase the multiplier. The increased multiplier is only in play for one turn before the meter resets to x1, regardless of whether you land a winning payline or not. Ark of Mystery takes you on an adventure deep into forgotten tombs and the ancient powers of a mysterious ark. The symbols are fantastically detailed, and the game’s background looks incredible. I’m always impressed when animations are added to the reels during certain features, as it helps bring certain games that don’t offer a huge amount of gameplay to life. Ark of Mystery is one such game. It might look amazing but there honestly isn’t a huge amount going on with each of your spins. I’m always weary of Wilds that come with additional features as the basic function of the wild symbol is often forgotten, replacing it with a feature that occurs less often, meaning you get less consistent returns. In this instance, sure the Wild Ark Re-Spins are great, but it can feel like an age waiting for them to happen, meaning less consistent Wild returns. The Multiplier is also a nice touch but the number of times I landed it without securing a winning payline became more than a little annoying. There are no Free Spins or Bonus features to this game making it a little on the dull side and one that struggles to hold the attention for too long. The house edge is decent, meaning it offers some value for money. When everything is considered this is a great looking game with some interesting features that could use a little more variety in the game play.
