Chargebacks against Fraudulent Casino

Postby Majortom2000 » Mon Jan 23, 2017 12:10 am

Hi,
I have a question regarding chargebacks, I joined Slots500 some time ago, spent some money, lost it, felt it wasn't favourable odds, then i got a phone call from a rep from the company offering me a bonus, I told him that i wanted him to close my account as I had a gambling addiction. Got more spam from them and ended up spending more money (addiction is a curse but I'm getting help now!). I emailed back to some of the emails telling them to take me off their list and eventually got a response saying I was now self excluded, this was after I had spent over £1000.
I've since found this site and others and read that Slots500 are not registered to take on UK players, are not licensed and are blacklisted!!

I really wish I'd done my homework and not been drawn in by my compulsion.

So, with the feedback on here that they are a fraud outfit/scam does this justify me making a complaint to get my deposits back or asking the bank?

Any views on this would be appreciated, I've lost money many times before and accept it was my responsibility but this crowd seemed like a criminal outfit. I contacted the live chat the other day out of curiosity and asked if they accept UK players and they said 'yes of course we do.' so are they operating legally and do I have any grounds to claim my deposits back? Especially as they failed in their duty of care to listen to my requests for self exclusion.

Thanks.

Hi Majortom2000 - welcome to the site, but given the content of your first post I'm hoping you're not going to become a regular visitor for your own sake!

The whole group running of the GameScale software platform are highly questionable and rightly Blacklisted due to many different player issues. I've heard numerous accounts of them not treating self-exclusion requests seriously and continuing to market to such players, though admittedly this has always been one-sided in nature (i.e. we've never been given the operator's side of the story). Whether or not this situation is something that justifies a charge back would be something that you would have to take up with your bank/card provider. You are right that you have to take some responsibility for your own actions. You are also right that this group are breaking UK law when they accept UK players. And you are absolutely right that EVERY operator should take reasonable measures to protect at risk players. However I'm not a lawyer and I'm not an expert on the banking sector. Whether your provider would view this a just cause to charge back or not is something that only they could answer.

Sorry I can't give a clearer response!
