Bet365 to Support Thousands of Employees in a Multi-Million Pound Pledge
by Glenn Baird - March 23, 2020
Betting firm Bet365 has revealed that they will be pledging millions to ensure that their 4,389 staff will keep their jobs for at least the next 5 months.
This means that anyone working for the Coats family owned business have been guaranteed a job until, at least, the end of August.
The same pledge has been passed on to all of Stoke City FC’s employees, the football club that is chaired by Peter Coates.
A spokesperson for bet365 said: “In times of uncertainty is was essential that we reassured our people of the commitment we have to them and the wider community.
“They have been instrumental in our success and will continue to be so throughout these troubling times and beyond, when normality will inevitably be restored.”
The closure of betting shops across the UK and the shutdown of almost all global sporting events means that the sportsbook, considered to be one of the biggest in the business will see a serious dent in their yearly profits.
In a recent interview with the Daily Star Coates said: “It will have a huge impact on the entire sector because there are very few markets. We’re in for very difficult times.”
However, if any sportsbook is in a position to support their staff through these difficult times then it is Bet365, who recorded record revenues of £2.98 billion – up from £2.71 billion the previous year.
