BetBlocker Launches on the Fire OS Platform

by ThePOGG - September 2, 2019

ThePOGG.com is very pleased to announce that our Responsible Gambling project BetBlocker in a collaborative effort with L&L Europe casino group have released a new Fire OS version of the app, allowing vulnerable players with Fire tablets and phones to extend their exclusions to these devices.

BetBlocker are now the first, and only, gambling filtering software to be made available on the Fire OS platform, one of the fastest growing platforms in terms of user share of the market.

BetBlocker is an app intended to help people who are experiencing difficultly controlling their impulse to gamble. One the app is installed on a device the user can choose how long they can restrict for. The app will then block them form accessing over 6.4k gambling websites for the duration of the exclusion.

The app is offered entirely free to users to ensure that those who have lost more than they can afford are still guaranteed access to help. There is no limit on how many devices it can be installed on our how many times a person can download it. The app is now available on the Android, Apple, Windows, Linux, iOS and Fire OS platforms.

When asked about this recent development, Duncan Garvie, the Manager of ThePOGG.com – the group which has funded and developed the BetBlocker project – had this to say:

“Advances in technology have confronted us all with a constantly changing world and for those people vulnerable to gambling addiction these developments have resulted in unprecedented access to remote gambling services. Every internet capable device is now a betting shop, bingo hall, poker room and casino all rolled into one and mobile technology means we’re never more than a few taps away from the next bet. To meet the needs of our users BetBlocker has to keep pace with the changing ways they are accessing the internet. The Fire OS is one of many improvements we plan to make over the coming years to address the needs of our users, expanding our service to cover one of the fasted growing platforms in the world right now.”

L&L Europe CEO Christopher Dalli adds:

“At L&L Europe we understand that responsible gambling is the top priority for ourselves and for our customers. While there are a number of projects that are using responsible gaming as yet another moneymaking exercise, ThePOGG have time and time again shown that this is an endeavour that is close to their heart and it is our privilege to be able to collaborate on this project with them. Just like ThePOGG we believe in a safe and responsible online gaming environment and in order to achieve that we believe it is our duty to help develop and facilitate access to fantastic tools like BetBlocker that could prove invaluable for vulnerable players.”

When asked about L&L Europe’s involvement in this project Mr. Garvie had this to say:

“ThePOGG.com has worked with L&L Europe for several years now and consistently been impressed with their professionalism and approach to player management. When they offered to make a financial contribution to help fund improving BetBlocker we were thrilled to partner with them and knew immediately that the Fire OS project was the best collaborative development to move forward with, bringing the service to a platform that previously had not coverage what-so-ever.”

BetBlocker’s Fire OS app can be downloaded from either the BetBlocker.org website or can be found on Amazon.
