Betway and Werder Bremen in 2 Year Deal Extension

by Glenn Baird - July 1, 2020

Despite living precariously in the Bundesliga’s relegation playoff spot, Werder Bremen has some good news head of their “must-win” double header against Heidenheim.

It was announced today that their partnership with Betway, which only had 1 year left to run, will be extended by another 2 years, providing some stability for a club that is facing uncertain times.

Betway has been the official sponsor for Werder Bremen since 2017, and will continue to maintain the same advertising spaces around the stadium for the next 3 years.

“We are pleased that a strong partner like Betway will continue working alongside us in the future. A long-term extension of the partnership is an important sign for all parties in a time where our Bundesliga status is not yet secured,” said Christian Rauhut, Director Sales at Werder Bremen.

Marco Sautner, Managing Director at Infront Germany, added: “Betway made it clear that they would like to carry on working with SV Werder Bremen even before the sporting implications of matchday 34. It’s a strong sign from a strong partner, who know that the success of a partnership isn’t dependent on a division!

We’re looking forward to the next three years with Betway, and of course we would like to wish Werder all the best in their games against Heidenheim.”

The deal comes just a day before the first leg in Bremen’s 2 match tie against Heidenheim, the team who finished in 3rd place in Germany’s second division.

Bremen have been a mainstay in the Bundesliga since the mid-sixties, with their last spell in the German second division being a brief 1 year stint back in the early 80s.

Whilst the season has been decidedly below par, Bremen will still head into the 2 matches as clear favourites, something they will have to capitalise on if they want to remain in one of Europes elite leagues.
