Genesis Global Limited Handed Interim Licence Suspension by UKGC
by Glenn Baird - July 22, 2020
The UK Gambling Commission has announced the suspension of Genesis Global Limited’s UK licence under the suspicion that they have breached certain terms.
The UK regulator suspects that Genesis Global has breached a condition of the licence (section 116(2)(a) of the Act) and, as such, they cannot continue to operate with a licence until a full review has been concluded.
Section 116(2)(a) states: “The Commission may review any matter connected with the provision of facilities for gambling as authorised by an operating licence if the Commission has reason to suspect that activities may have been carried on in purported reliance on the licence but not in accordance with a condition of the licence.”
In a media release, the UKGC commented: “We have instructed the operator to facilitate customers accessing their accounts to withdraw funds and advise customers not to place any bets through the above websites.
“If a customer has questions concerning their account we advise they contact the operator through the website they have used.”
Site that will be affected by the suspension are Casoola Casino, Casino Planet, Kassu, CasinoCruise, Casino Gods, Casino Joy, Genesis Casino, Pelaa, Sloty Online Casino, Spela, Spinit and Vegas Hero.
The UKGC has advised that all customers remove funds from their accounts and that no more is gambled or deposited.
