Guts Casino to Leave the UK Market

by Glenn Baird - November 24, 2020

It was announced over at Casino Meister today that Guts Casino will be exiting the UK as of the 9th of December 2020.

As of this date, both the casino and the poker site will no longer accept deposits from UK customers.

The news shouldn’t be too surprising for customers as it is only a matter of weeks since the Guts sportsbook was taken down and now that the casino is a Betsson brand, many would argue that it was also a forgone conclusion.

Just last month Betsson released the following statement:

“This initiative will increase efficiency and have a positive impact on the contribution from its UK business,” Betsson detailed in its corporate filing.

“It will also enable resources to be reallocated for profitable growth in other markets. The other eight brands will be retained in the Group’s portfolio for use in other markets and therefore there will be no need for write down of goodwill or trademark.”

This cements the Betsson brief to only forge ahead with one UK brand,, which is now the only casino owned by Betsson that looks likely to have any future in the UK market.

Fears that Guts Casino could fold entirely have been put to bed with it being confirmed that only their UK operations will cease trading.
