LeoVegas in Red Tiger Exclusive
by Glenn Baird - November 5, 2020

For a short time, you can play the Ali Baba’s Luck Megaways’s slot exclusively at LeoVegas.
The slot is a Red Tiger release and it is a Megaways slot, which means that there are multiple fingers in this particular pie.
The Megaways mechanic is a Big Time Gaming technology, and anytime a software developer uses the Megaways’ brand, then you know that BTG are involved and taking their cut of the profits.
And, if anyone didn’t already know, Red Tiger are owned by, none other than, Net Entertainment, the biggest name in slots. That makes for 4 big names within the industry before we even get to the content of the slot itself.
It is also worth noting that a version of this slot already exists that is essentially the same, just without the Megaways and was released by Red Tiger in July 2020. This is also the 3rd slot to have Abi Baba mentioned its title in 2020, with a Play ‘n’ Go slot called “Fortunes of Ali Baba” released in February this year.
Ali Baba Context
Ali Baba is a well-worn path in the world of video slots. It is a name synonymous with wealth and that all-important rags to riches tale needed to mirror the hopes anyone who spins a reel on a slot machine has before they deposit their money.
Originally a poor woodcutter, Ali Baba discovers a cave of wonders, filled with treasure that he unlocks using the infamous phrase: “Open Sesame”. With the help of a young slave girl Ali Baba manages to outfox the thieves, avoiding their murderous intent and retaining all their precious treasures.
In the aftermath of the central conflict only Ali Baba is left knowing the secrets of the treasure, free to dip in and out whenever he needs to.
There is a moral at the heart of the story because Ali Baba married for love and sacrificed wealth to do so. Conversely, his brother marries a wealthy woman and becomes, for want of a better word, a snob.
Ali Baba made no concessions and did not seek wealth beyond the spiritual and emotional riches of a loving relationship and the universe rewarded him for this purity of heart.
Additionally his brother discovers Ali Baba’s secret and seeks the gold for himself, dying at the hands of the thieves, his judgement clouded by greed and selfishness.
Much of that story has been forgotten but I guess for the purpose of a slot designer, so long as we all know that Ali Baba got rich, then it works as the delivery platform for a set of reels.
Ali Baba’s Luck Megaways

Whilst you can always check out our full review of the Ali Baba’s Luck Megaways slot, here is a quick summary of what you will find if you choose to head over to LeoVegas and take advantage of the exclusivity on offer:
The slot taps into the wealth many of us associate with that time and place and as such you have a colour scheme that reflects the rich silks and other such fabrics that would have come in pinks, purples and deep blues, along with the golden objects that Ali Baba would have found in the den of thieves.
The Megaways mechanic can often save a poor slot from a poor review because that constant shift in size and shape gives the feel of variety, when perhaps there is little actually there.
No Wilds is disappointing, but Free Spins and the expanding symbol feature do go some way towards making up for it.
Is this the best LeoVegas exclusive I have seen? Honestly, no it is not, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something here worth checking out and if you are a LeoVegas customer you can do so before, just about anyone else.
