MGA Establishes Commercial Communications Committee and Guidelines on Player Protection
by Glenn Baird - August 28, 2019
The MGA (Malta Gaming Authority)have issued a press release today outlying the guidelines that they have set in place to protect players and to ensure responsible gaming, something they have stated is “on the top of its regulatory agenda”.
Along with those guidelines, a new committee, the Commercial Communications Committee has been established in order to evaluate commercial communications and to effectively judge whether any violations are made.
The guidelines have been documented to help all licensees ensure that they are offering the supports that are expected of them and will help to provide support for those looking for certain clarity within existing regulations. However, the MGA have made it clear that these guidelines are exactly that and will not be considered “a substitute for existing laws and regulations.”
If an operator is deemed to be in violation of responsible gaming regulations then details of the case will be posted on http://www.mga.org.mt/CCC to allow others a reference point.
