Playtech and Betfred Announce Contract Extension
by Glenn Baird - March 5, 2020
Gaming technology giants Playtech and UK based operator Betfred have struck an 5-year extension to their current deal, meaning the technology company will continue to provide Betfred with live casino, bingo and poker software as part of their online content.
Chief operating officer at Playtech, Shimon Akad said: “We are delighted that Betfred, the world’s largest independent bookmaker and a key long-term partner for Playtech, has chosen to commit to an exclusive agreement across four key verticals.
“Betfred’s decision to invest in an exclusivelive casino space in 2018 was a significant step in developing our working relationship, and has seen Betfred develop a highly compelling Live offering.”
The extension announcement comes not long after a similar deal was struck with the Mansion Group a few days ago and Playtech’s contract with GVG Holdings to provide live roulette software in the Spanish market.
Akad added: “We’re very much looking forward to working together over the next four years to continue delivering innovative content backed by industry-leading technology.”
This is not Befred’s first big contract announced of 2020 either, with the British company revealing that they had struck a deal with Net Entertainment to gain access to their titles for the UK market.
Rakesh Chablani, managing director at Betfred, adds: “Having had a strong and successful partnership with Playtech for over ten years now, the extension of our exclusive agreement for another four years represents an exciting opportunity to continue growing our business.
“We’re passionate about creating the best possible player experience across all verticals, and we’re confident that the continued development of our dedicated live casino space, plus an unparalleled selection of casino, bingo and poker content, will allow us to do exactly that.”
