SBC Awards Results

by Glenn Baird - December 5, 2019

The annual SBC Awards were held a few days ago, in a ceremony that was hosted by high profile celebrities, TV sports presenter Kirsty Gallagher and Dutch footballing legend Ruud Gullit.

The event honours those in the sports betting and igaming sector, with 34 different operators receiving awards this year for performance and innovation.

The Sportsbook of the Year award, considered to be one of the most sought after at the SBC Awards was given to Bet365 for the 6th year in a row. They also managed to pick up Football Sportsbook of the Year, with William Hill receiving the award for best Racing Sportsbook.

In the Casino of the Year category, Sweden’s LeoVegas picked up the top prize, whilst also picking up the Innovation in Casino Entertainment prize. However, they could not add to that impressive haul, losing out to Bet365 in the Best Affiliate Program award, which rounded off a very successful evening for the Stoke based company.

The only other multiple winner on the night was BetRader who picked up 3 awards: Best Sports Data Product, Best Virtual Football Product and Best Live Streaming Product.

Along with awards for operators, there were also awards for individuals, with 3 different CEOs all picking up prizes in leadership.

Managing Director at SBC, Andrew McCarron, said: “Congratulations to all the winners selected by our voters and judging panels. We had a record number of entries this year and the quality of them was hugely impressive, so the victors had to be truly exceptional to stand out from the other contenders.

“The operational excellence, innovation and commitment to driving up standards demonstrated by the award winners and shortlisted companies is a really positive sign for the future of the industry, and we’re excited to see what further developments they come up with in 2020.”

“It was a good night made possible by the support of our sponsors and media partners. We can’t put on the events we do without their involvement, so I’d like to thank BetConstruct, Scientific Games and Trustly for being headline sponsors and all the other companies that believe in what we are trying to provide to the gambling industry.”
