Stats Appointed by New Zealand Cricket to Improve Data Gathering

by Glenn Baird - November 27, 2020

Stats Perform has announced that it will become the lead data gatherer and distributor for New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

Opta (Stats Perform’s unit for analysis) will head up the NZC collection of data, allowing it to be used to ensure integrity within the sport and to pass on for commercial use. This will allow for much more detailed insight for those looking for sporting insight.

The information generated will be given to fantasy, broadcast, media and betting operators, including NZC’s official social media platforms.

“We are thrilled to have renewed our partnership with New Zealand Cricket,” said Stats Perform Chief Rights Officer Alex Rice. “We look forward to continuing to provide extensive coverage for all of the premier Cricket New Zealand matches and supporting the production of live streams from previously un-broadcast competitions.”

The deal will cover all international matches involving New Zealand and domestic games. This will include New Zealand’s Ford Trophy, Plunket Shield, and Super Smash men’s and women’s T20 competitions.

Rice finished: “Through our new agreement, Stats Perform data and video will be used to maximise significant opportunities for global engagement and improve the way it is experienced and understood by fans. We look forward to providing an expanded premium in-play gaming experience, improved data insights and providing more content for sponsors.”
