The Age of Spartans slots game can be found at casinos offering Genii software. Genii is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Alongside many of the smaller casino software providers Genii focus heavily on slots games. The House Edge/RTP of the Genii slots games is sometimes listed within the paytable for the newer games in their catalogue. For the older games, as Genii is partnered with UK licensed operators and the UKGC license requires the publication of this information, RTP figures can be found on numerous casino sites. As such we know that the house edge for Age of Spartans is 9%.
Age of Spartans is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. There are 50 paylines available, playing from left to right.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Spartan Close Up”, which substitutes for all symbols other than Free Spin symbols. Wild symbols are also the most valuable in the game: 2 “Spartan Close Up” symbols as part of a winning payline will win you 10 coins; 3 “Spartan Close Up” symbols as part of a winning payline will win you 200 coins; 4 “Spartan Close Up” symbols as part of a winning payline will win you 2000 coins; 5 “Spartan Close Up” symbols as part of a winning payline will win you 10,000 coins. Any Wild wins are doubled.
Scatters/Free Spins – The “Shield” is the game’s Free Spins symbol. 3 or more “Shield” symbols anywhere on the reels will award you will 15 Free Spins. 2 “Shield” symbols anywhere on the reels will win you 2 coins; 3 “Shield” symbols anywhere on the reels will win you 5 coins; 4 “Shield” symbols anywhere on the reels will win you 20 coins; 5 “Shield” symbols anywhere on the reels will win you 500 coins. 15 Free Spins can be re-triggered during the feature and all wins are tripled.
Age of Spartans is about as simple a slots game as you are ever likely to find. The theme sounds like it might have a lot to offer, but in reality there really is very little going on here. There are Wilds, and they offer some interesting additional features, but nothing too special. There are Free Spins but they can only be re-triggered the once. Other than that there is nothing else here to discuss, in terms of features. The game should look better and should offer more immersive game play through engaging animated sequences. However, what lets Age of Spartans down more than anything is the house edge. At 9% I can honestly say I haven’t seen a house edge as unfavourable. That alone makes this a game you need to avoid.
