The Ankh of Anubis slot game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Ankh of Anubis is 3.8%.
The Ankh of Anubis slot game has 5 reels but they vary in symbol height, using a 3-4-4-4-3 reel format. There are also no paylines. Instead you land wins when you form matching symbol combinations of 3 or more, from left to right, across adjacent reels. There are 576 ways to win in total.
As the title of this slot would suggest, it is using an Egyptian theme, with a particular focus on the Anubis, the Egyptian God of Death, most notable for having the head of a dog. However, in this instance, Play ‘n’ Go have added a very futuristic take on the theme. There is something almost Power Rangers about it all, with a gleaming metal city and speeding aircraft overhead. Add to this the giant planet or moon in the background and we are most certainly no longer on planet earth.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Anubis” and will substitute for all symbols other than Scatters.
Scatter – The “Pyramid” is the game’s Scatter symbol. 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the Free Spins feature.
Anubis Wilds – This is a random feature that can trigger on any of your spin. When this happens a random number of Wild symbols will be added to the reels.
Free Spins – If you can land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters then you will be rewarded with 10, 15, or 20 spins respectively. During the Free Spins, every time an Anubis symbol lands on the reels and once 5 of them have been collected they are all added to the reels at once. If you land 3, 4 or 5 Free Spins symbols on the reels during the feature then you will be awarded 3, 4 or 5 additional spins respectively. There is no limit to the number of times that this can happen.
There is little to criticise about how this slot looks. The design is seamless, something that Play ‘n’ Go are managing more and more often these days. Whilst the slot is far from poor I am disappointed that we have yet another Egyptian themed slot, making this the third of its ilk in a matter of a few months. You get Free Spins, you get Wilds and you get 1 random feature. It’s far from their best work but still a very solid offering from the software giants.
