Arctic Magic Slot Review

Released December 2019

The Arctic Magic slot game can be found at Microgaming casinos. Microgaming as a standard now publish the house edge information of all their slots at any online casino that holds a UKGC license (this is a requirement for all UKGC licensed casinos). As such we can say that the House Edge of Arctic Magic is 3.9%. When playing at any venue that does not hold a UKGC license and does not specifically publish the Return to Player information for their game, this information should be used as a guideline only as we cannot confirm whether or not this game is configurable.

Arctic Magic, unsurprisingly an Arctic themed slot. If you were expecting snow and ice then you will not be disappointed as the frozen wastelands of the Arctic make their way onto the reels in abundance. Various animals that populate the region are also there for you in a slot that uses that a colour scheme of blues and purples, to sit along side the jagged edges of mountains and trees.

Arctic Magic is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, with 9 in total playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – The “Arctic Magic Logo” symbol is Wild, substituting for all symbols other than Scatters symbols. It also happens to be the most valuable symbol in this game. Any win involving a Wild symbol will be doubled.

Scatter – The Scatter symbol is the Snowflake. 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will trigger the Free Spins feature. The Scatter symbol is the second most valuable symbol in the game and will pay out in combinations of 2 or more, regardless of paylines.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – You will be awarded 15 Free Spins if you land 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. All wins during the feature are tripled and the Free Spins can be re-triggered.

I have seen a number of slots that look like Arctic Magic before and the one thing they all seem to have in common is that they tend not to be all that exciting. They do normally look excellent and Arctic Magic ticks that particular box along with the one that signals a lack of any excitement. You get Wilds and they double your wins. You get Free Spins, during which your wins are tripled, and they can be retriggered. These are excellent features, they just aren’t all that original. The house edge, is pretty standard as well, leaving us with a slot that is pretty average.
