Avalon: The Lost Kingdom Slot Review

Released February 2020

The Avalon: The Lost Kingdom slot can be found at casinos using BGaming software. BGaming is one of the newer software developers in the online gaming market. Unlike many of the smaller casino software providers BGaming offer a relatively complete suite of casino games featuring most of the major table games (other than Craps which isn’t particularly popular online) and even a Video Poker game. The company is operated by the same team responsible for the SoftSwiss casino platform and Direx N.V. license. BGaming do not always publish the slots house edge information of all their games, but have done is this instance and as such we know that the house edge for Avalon: The Lost Kingdom is 5%.

Avalon: The Lost Kingdom is a 5 reel slots game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses standard paylines, with 20 in total, playing from left to right.

Theme

The theme for this slot is King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone. The design takes a Celtic slant on the myth, with various Celtic symbols and some jewellery making up a few of the symbols. There are a few characters from the myths present too, although there are no knights of the round table and no round table either, with the suggestion that this slot is about Prince Arthur, before he becomes the King of Camelot.

Special Symbols

Valuable Symbol – The most valuable standard symbol in is the “Prince Arthur” symbol.

Wild – The “Celtic Stone” is the Wild symbol, which will substitute for all symbols other than scatters.

Scatter – The “Sword” is the Scatter symbol, which will pay out in combinations of 3 or more regardless of paylines. The “Sword” symbol will also trigger the Free Spins feature if you can land 3 or more of them.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols will award you with 10, 12 or 15 Free Spins respectively. You can re-trigger the feature.

Fateful Wind – This feature is available during the Free Spins. Before they begin you choose one of the 3 character symbols and any time it lands it will act as a Wild, substituting for all symbols other than Scatters.

Excalibur – This feature is available during the Free Spins and triggers at random. On any spin the Excalibur can wave across the reels and add additional Wilds.

Win Multiplier – This is available during the Free Spins. On every win during the Free Spin a Multiplier will be applied. The value of the Multiplier will increase with each win, up to a maximum of x7 the bet.

Conclusion

This is another well-designed slot from the developers at BGaming. It looks great and comes with a few interesting, but ultimately simple features. You get Free Spins and Wilds. The Free Spins can be re-triggered and they also come with a random feature and a win multiplier. The house edge is disappointingly high, which inevitably means we cannot score this slot as well as we would have wanted to.
