The Bai She Zhuan slots game can be found at online casinos offering Paiplay. Pariplay now publish the slots house edge information of all their games as a standard. You can find this by clicking the ‘+’ symbol at the bottom left hand corner of the game window then clicking ‘?’. Within this help file you’ll find the RTP information. As such we can say that the House Edge of Bai She Zhuan is 6.11%. As the help file does not list a range of possible figures we assume that this game is not configurable and should be the same at every casino you find it at.
Bai She Zhuan is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses 25 standard paylines, playing from left to right.
Wilds – There are 2 different Wild symbols in the game, both substituting for all symbols other than Bonus and Free Spin symbols. “Bai Suzhen’s Snake Wild” is a blue circle with a snake wrapped around it. It will expand over one to three additional symbols around it, at random. “Fa Hai’s Turtle Wild” is a turtle with a round orange shell. The Wild will expand over one symbol that is beside it and both Wild symbols will stick in place for one more spin.
Bonus – The “Eye” is the game’s bonus symbol and will trigger the bonus feature.
Free Games – The Free Spins symbol is a silver framed mirror with a blue centre.
Bai Suzhen and Fai Hai sit at either side of the reels, trapped in concrete. Consecutive wins with blue symbols will help Bai Suzhen to break free, whilst consecutive wins with red symbols will help Fai Hai to escape.
Bai Suzhen Free Spins – If you manage to break Bai Suzhen from her concrete prison you will be granted 5 free spins. If in the same game the free spins round was triggered with scatters you will gain an additional 5 free spins.
Fai Hai Free Spins – If you can break Fai Hai from his concrete prison you will trigger the game’s bonus feature, which is described below. If you happen to trigger the bonus round using bonus symbols on the same spin you will be awarded with an automatic re-trigger during the bonus.
Bonus – The game’s bonus feature is triggered when you break Fai Hai out of his concrete prison or when you land 3,4 or 5 of the game’s Bonus symbols. 3 Bonus symbols trigger the bonus, 4 trigger it with an automatic re-spin and 5 trigger it with 2 automatic re-spins. When this happens you will have the chance to open up some chests, in what is a click and reveal game, containing bet multipliers. Opening an empty chest will end the bonus. If you complete te bonus without opening an empty chest, the bonus will start again.
Free Spins – To trigger the Free Spins feature you need to land 3 or more of the “Free Games” symbols anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 5 free spins if you land 3 “Free Games” symbols, 10 if you land 4 “Free Games” symbols or 15 free spins if you land 5 “Free Games” symbols. You can also trigger between 5 and 10 free spins if you can release Bai Suzhen from her concrete prison. You can win additional spins if you can land a scatter symbol during the free spins, or if you can land a Wild symbol on reel 5.
Bai She Zhuan is a great looking game that is based around ancient Chinese mythology. The two characters on either side of the reels battling each other adds a sense of drama and narrative to the game, which allows the experience to become quite immersive. There are wilds, free spins, a bonus feature and two ways to trigger them both. If I had a list of things that I would like to see in a slots game then Bai She Zhuan has pretty much ticked off every single one of them. However, the game does have one negative that is relatively substantial. A house edge of 6.11% is way above the average, meaning that for all its good looks, for all its playability and for all the fun bonus action that Bai She Zhuan has to offer, what it doesn’t have is good value for money and for this reason alone we simply cannot recommend that you play it.
