Barbary Coast Slot Review

The Barbary Coast slots game is produced by BetSoft. BetSoft are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and do not offer their own casino platform. Instead they lease their games out to casinos using other platforms. BetSoft do not publish their slots house edge information. However some casinos offering their games do publish this information. When playing BetSoft at a casino that does not publish this information, the figures in this review should be treated as a guideline only – we cannot confirm whether this game is configurable.

Step back in time to fight Blackbeard and save the fair maiden.

This game is a 5 reel game with 30 paylines and you can bet one coin on each payline.

There are no wild symbols when playing Barbary Coast.

There are five bonus features when playing Barbary Coast. The first bonus feature is activated when you receive the ‘Cannon’ symbol on reel 3. When this happens a cannon will be wheeled out and blows up reel 3, turning it into a wild reel. The wild reel is held over for an additional spin.

The second bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Parrot’ symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 5 complimentary spins.

The third bonus feature is activated when you receive the ‘Dashing Pirate’ symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5. When this happens you will be asked to click on the symbols one at a time to reveal random prizes.

The fourth bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Blackbeard’ symbol on any active payline. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing the three different sword manoeuvres for you to pick for the upcoming fight. Once you’ve picked your manoeuvers you will be shown the dashing pirate fighting Blackbeard using the manoeuvres you chose. Regardless of what you pick the Dashing Pirate always wins the fight and saves the girl.

The fifth bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Fat Pirate’ symbol on any active payline. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing the Fat Pirate sitting on the other side of a barrel to you engaged in a drinking contest. You flip a coin and if you win the Fat Pirate has to drink and if you lose you have to drink. You repeat this process until one of you falls over drunk. You win a prize for each drink consumed and for winning the contest.

Great graphics, smooth gameplay and a host of fun bonus features make Barbary Coast great fun to play, if a little on the expensive side.
