The Battle Royal game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Battle Royal is 4%.
The Battle Royal game has 5 reels and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses 20 paylines, playing from left to right.
Special Symbols
Wild – The “Henry VIII” symbols are Wild, substituting for all symbols other than Scatters.
Scatters – The “Coat of Arms” symbol is the game’s Scatter. “Coat of Arms” symbols only appear on reels 1 and 5 and trigger the game’s bonus features. When you land one on reel 1 and reel 5 you can choose to play either the Free Spins feature or the Heads Will Roll feature.
Bonus Features
Free Spins – There is no set number of free spins. Instead, you keep spinning until all of Henry’s wives have lost their heads. At the start of the feature you choose a wife that you hope will remain until the very end without losing her head. Then, during the feature a guillotine will appear on the reels with each free spin. If one of the Wife symbols are visible either fully, or the top half on that reel they lose their head and that symbol becomes Wild for the rest of the Free Spins round. Free Spins continue until 1 Wife symbol is left alive. If the player’s chosen wife survives, an additional instant prize is awarded.
Once there is only one wife remaining you need to choose a reel for her to lose her head on. If you choose the reel that the wife appears on you will trigger the Long Live the King bonus. If she loses it on a different reel the bonus will end and you will return to the main game.
Long Live the King! (Bonus Feature) – You can either choose to trigger this feature when you land a “Coat of Arms” symbol on the first and fifth reels, or you may get lucky on the final Free Spin and guess the reel that the final wife loses her head on. The Long Live the King! bonus round is essentially a flip and reveal tile round, where you take King Henry through his treasury to open up boxes of loot. You can win instant prizes, but the game will end when a ghost of one of Henry’s dead wives pops out of the chest. If you find a key you can leave the treasury and gain a random multiplier on the cash prizes you have already earned. Or you can choose to remain and continue opening up chests.
Royal Flush - The Royal Flush feature can trigger at random on the base game and convert all low paying symbols into the same symbol.
