Book of Ra Review

Your search returned no results.

Book of Ra is a Chartwell game. Chartwell appears to have closed down with the casinos offering their games standing alone with no further updates. Chartwell do not as standard release the house edge information of their games. However some of the casinos offering Chartwell games have started releasing this information. When playing at a casino that does not specifically state the house edge figure it’s using, the figures in this review should be treated as a guideline only as it appears that Book of Ra is configurable.

Venture into the catacombs of ancient Egypt with a character that bares more than a passing resemblance to Indiana Jones in search of ancient artefacts and huge wealth.

This game is a 5 reel game, with 10 paylines and you can bet 1 coin on each payline.

The ‘Book of Ra’ symbol is wild and also a scatter symbol that will trigger this games bonus feature.

When three or more of the ‘Book of Ra’ symbols appear anywhere on the reels, you will be awarded 10 complimentary spins. At the start of the complimentary spins one symbol will be chosen at random to become an expanding symbol. During the complimentary spins whenever this symbol lands on a reel after the normal payouts have occurred the symbol will expand to cover the whole reel. Then the payline are calculated again, however with the expanded symbols as long as you have enough of the same symbol on a payline regardless of order you will be paid. For example, if 10 was the expanding symbol and you have four 10’s on a payline but the third reel has an A’s symbol, you would still receive the payout for four 10’s in a row.

Closing Thoughts

A configurable game with nothing spectacularly special to offer, if you can find a casino that offers Book of Ra at the lowest house edge, then it may be worth considering.
