Book of Santa Slot Review

The Book of Santa slot can be found at casinos offering Endorphina software. Endorphina are one of the newer casino software providers on the market but they have managed to gain distribution with some of the largest casino networks currently active within the market. As a standard Endorphina do publish the RTP/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help file or paytables. As a software provider not licensed in the UK, and as such not required to publish this information, this is a significantly player friendly practice. As such we can state that the Book of Santa House Edge is 4.00%.

Book of Santa is a 5 reel slots game and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses 10 paylines, playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild/Scatter – The Book of Santa is both the Wild symbol and the Scatter. This means is will substitute for all symbols and it will trigger the Free Spins feature when you land 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels at once. It also happens to be the most valuable symbol in the game.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – Once you have triggered the Free Spins by landing 3 or more of the Scatter symbols you will be awarded 10 Free Spins. Before your spins begin a random symbol will be chosen which will expand, but only once it has helped to form a winning combination – so all the matching symbols will expand too. This happens after the pay out of ordinary symbols, earn two wins when this happens. The feature can be re-triggered but the Free Spins symbol will not substitute for expanding symbols.

Take Risk – Whilst you might not necessarily class this as a bonus feature, it does play a significant role in the gaming experience. With every win you get the chance to try and double your win by trying your luck in a game of “Play Your Cards Right” with the game’s dealer. If you can flip over a card that is higher than the one the dealer is showing you will double your win. Flip a card that is lower than the dealer’s and you lose the lot. This round continues until you either choose to stop gambling, you lose out to the dealer or you manage to win 10 times in a row. In the result of a tie, no one wins.

Conclusion

It has been a while since we have had a new Endorphina slot, with this one released just in time for Christmas 2019. The slot looks OK but is honestly nothing all that special. You get a few features, but nothing very spectacular, including a wild and some Free Spins. However, the Free Spins can be re-triggered and there are expanding symbols available too. The house edge is a little higher than we would have hoped for but is still offering decent value.
