The House Edge of Champions of Rome is 3.6%.
Champions of Rome is a 5 reel game that is 3 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, with 20 in total, playing from left to right.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Gold Eagle”, which will substitute for all regular symbols.
The Beast – The “Beast” symbol will award a Free Spin when it is hit by a weapon. The “Beast” symbol is only available on reels 2,3 and 4 during the Free Spins feature.
Gold Gladiator – The game’s most valuable symbol is the “Gold Gladiator”. The “Gold Gladiator” will pay out 40 coins for combinations of 3, 120 coins for combinations of 4 and 1200 for combinations of 5.
Free Spins – The Free Spins symbol is the “Silver Mask”. The Free Spins symbols will trigger the game’s Free Spins feature and the Weapon Feature, both of which will be described below.
Weapon Feature – You trigger this feature when you land 2 of the Free Spins symbols on a single spin. When this happens, one of the following three outcomes will be decided at random:
Swords – If this outcome is randomly triggered 2 single Wild symbols and a 1×2 Wild symbol will be added to the reels in random places.
Mace – If this outcome is randomly triggered a 2×2 Wild symbol will be added to the reels in a random place.
Trident – If this outcome is randomly triggered 4 single Wild symbols will be added to the reels in random places.
Free Spins – When you trigger the Free Spins feature by landing 3 or more of the Free Spins symbols, the following will happen: If you land 3 symbols you will gain the Free Spins and be awarded 20 coins, if you land 4 symbols you will gain the Free Spins and be awarded 300 coins and if you land 5 symbols you will gain the Free Spins and be awarded 12,000 coins.
Once you have triggered the Free Spins you have a choice to make. You can either play in Training Mode or in Deathmatch Mode:
In Training Mode you will gamble nothing. You will take the coins that you win during the Free Spins feature.
In Deathmatch Mode you take a risk. You play for a multiplier that can earn you x4 your over all winnings (depending on how many Free Spins you choose). However, there is a chance that you might not win your Deathmatch, at which point you forfeit your winnings and accept a consolation prize instead. The consolation prize will be between 40 and 200 coins, or 5 Training Mode spins. To win the Deathmatch you must win more than 450 coins during your Free Spins.
Before the Deathmatch begins you have the choice of 7 Free Spins with a x2 multiplier, 6 Free Spins with a x3 multiplier or 5 Free Spins with a x4 multiplier. Obviously it is more difficult to hit the 450 coin mark with fewer Free Spins, hence the larger reward if you manage to do so.
Buy the Bonus – You can, at any point in the game spend 1000 coins to trigger the Free Spins feature automatically.
