Contact Slot Review

Released: March 2019

The Contact game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Contact is 4%.

The Contact game has 5 reels and each reel is 7 symbols high. The game does not use traditional paylines, instead you form clusters of 5 or more identical in any direction on the reels.

Special Symbols

High Paying Symbols – The high paying symbols are the Face Masks. The most valuable fo these being the purple Face Mask.

Re-Spins – Every time you form a winning combination all the non-winning symbols will disappear and the winning symbols will fall to the bottom of the grid before new symbols drop down, giving you another chance to win. The process will continue until you fail to add any new winning combinations.

Win Multiplier – Along the left-hand side of the reels there is another set of blocks, some of which contain a multiplier. If you can fill an entire row with the one symbol on the same row as the multiplier then you win will be multiplied accordingly.

Bonus Round – To activate the Bonus Round you need to keep forming winning combinations until the winning blocks reach the very top of the grid. If you can do so, you will be awarded with 3 Free Spins. The grid will clear of triggering symbols before the Free Spins begin.

Super Bonus Round – To activate the Super Bonus Round you need to fill the grid with winning combinations. You do not need to have identical symbols throughout, but all symbols do need to be contributing to a win. If you can do this you will be awarded with 6 Free Spins.

Bonus Round Multiplier – If you can fill an entire row with a single winning combination you will increase the size of the multipliers that are being used. The multiplier can reach a maximum of 25 times the bet.

Bonus Round Mystery Symbols – If you form a winning combination across an entire row that has a Question Mark symbol to the side of it there are a number of additional features that can be triggered:

Block Destroyer – Only available during the Bonus Round and the Super Bonus Round. This will destroy 1 Multiplier block on the left-hand side on the reels, moving all the multiplier blocks down one space and adding another, higher paying, multiplier to the top of the reels. If you trigger this during the Super Bonus Round you will destroy 3 blocks instead of 1.

Additional Free Spins - Only available during the Bonus Round and the Super Bonus Round. This will increase the number of the Free Spins you have received during the Bonus Round by 1 and by 3 during the Super Bonus Round.

Symbol Upgrade – If you trigger this during the Bonus Round you will upgrade the value of one winning cluster. If you trigger this during the Super Bonus Round you will upgrade the value of all winning clusters.

Contact sees you enter into the jungle and spin the reels on a long forgotten Aztec temple. There has been an increase within the last 12 months of this type of game and I would go as far as to say that this is the best one I’ve played. Just last week Net Entertainment brought out Temple of Nudges, a game that has a lot in common with Contact, but does not compete with the quality that Play ‘n Go have produced here. Contact looks incredible, it also sounds great, with the satisfying slide and clunk of concrete slabs moving into place. The grid is huge and there is so much going on all the time that it can become seriously addictive. The bonus rounds might be very similar to the main game but there are enough little addons to inject the variety needed and let’s not forget that the main game has much more to offer than most. The house edge is higher than we want it to be but can be forgiven when you consider how good everything else is.
