Countdown Slot Review

The Countdown slots game is produced by Endemol. Endemol are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and do not offer their own casino platform. Instead they lease their games out to casinos using other platforms. Endemol do not publish their slots house edge information. However some casinos offering their games do publish this information. When playing Countdown at a casino that does not publish this information, the figures in this review should be treated as a guideline only – we cannot confirm whether this game is configurable.

“Come on boffins! Don’t let me down.”

This game is a 5 reel game, with 20 paylines and you can bet one coin on each payline.

The ‘Countdown Logo’ symbol is wild and doubles all wins it contributes to.

There are three bonus features when playing Countdown. The first is activated when you receive three or more of the ‘Number Board’ bonus symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing 28 squares. You pick 6 squares, each revealing a number and then the 6 numbers are used to make two sums the first of which defines the number of complimentary spins you’ll receive and the second the multiplier that will be applied to your complimentary spins.

The second bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Letter Board’ bonus symbol anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be taken to a new screen showing two contestants and a row of letters. You press reveal and if the red player has constructed the longest word from the letters you win a prize. This is repeated 5 times, the more times the red player wins the bigger the prize you receive at the end of the bonus feature.

The third bonus feature is activated when you receive 3 or more of the ‘Conundrum’ bonus symbol anywhere on the board. When this happens you are taken to a new screen showing the name Countdown with all the letters removed other than the O’s and the N’s and a wheel with the missing letters. You spin the wheel and the letter that it lands on is added to the name. You get to spin the wheel 5 times and the more letters you add to the name the larger the prize you receive at the end of the feature.

Alongside Catch Phrase, Countdown is easily one of the best of the game show style slots games that WagerWorks has released.
