The Crown of Avalon slot game can be found at casinos offering Iron Dog software. Iron Dog are one of the smaller software providers currently on the market, but the appear to be a subsidiary of the far larger and better established 1x2Gaming. They do not offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Iron Dog do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game paytable. As such we know that the house edge for Crown of Avalon is 4%.
Crown of Avalon is 5 reel slot, with each reel sitting at 3 symbols in height. The slot uses traditional paylines, with 10 in total, playing from left to right.
– The theme for this slot is King Arthur. As such you can expect knights, swords and wizards.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Sword”, which will substitute for all paying symbols, automatically doing so for the highest paying option. If a Wild symbol lands on the top symbol space on any reel it will expand down the way to fill the reel.
Scatter – The “Crown” symbol is the Scatter. You need to land 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels to trigger the Free Spins.
Free Spins – 3, 4 or 5 “Crown” symbols will award 10 Free Spins. Before the feature begins a symbol will be chosen at random and every time it lands it will expand to fill the reel. The Free Spins can be retriggered in the same way that they were triggered in the first place.
The last few Iron Dog slots have really impressed me, given how young the company is and what they released previously. This slot feels like a step in the wrong direction. Free Spins, Wilds and an expanding symbol, isn’t really good enough for a slot with an above average house edge and a design is equally disappointing.
