Dim Sum Prize Slot Review

Released August 2020

The Dim Sum Prize slot game is produced by BetSoft. BetSoft are one of the smaller slot development companies on the market at the moment and have recently started offering their own casino platform. The company was founded in 2006, entering the slots market 4 years later. Betsoft do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Dim Sum Prize is 2.82%.

Dim Sum Prize has 5 reels and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses 10 standard paylines, playing from left to right.

Theme

This slot has an Asian theme, with a particular focus placed on Chinese food. As such you can expect to see plenty Dim Sum dumplings, bowls of rice, chicken feet, etc.

Special Symbols

Wild – The “Teapot” is the Wild symbol. Wilds will substitute for all symbols other than Free Spins and Bonus symbols. Every time a Teatime Wild lands it will award you with a respin. More Teatime Wilds will mean more respins and any that do land will stick in place for those respins. The most respins you can be awarded is 9.

Free Spins – The “Red Coupon” symbol is the Free Spins symbol. You need 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels to trigger the Free Spins feature.

Bonus – The “Bamboo Basket” symbol is the Bonus symbol. They only land on reels 2, 3 or 4 but you only need 1 of them to trigger the Bonus.

Bonus Features

Free Spins – If you trigger the Free Spins feature you will be given 5 Free Spins. The symbols that triggered the feature will turn into Teatime Wilds and will remain in place throughout the 5 spins. Additional Teatime Wilds can land and will award respins as normal.

Bonus – If you trigger the Bamboo Bonus then you will either pull a Coupon or a Teapot from the Basket. If it is a coupon then you will be awarded Free Spins and if it is the Teapot then you will be given a respin with a wild added to the reels.

Conclusion

Dim Sum Price is a fairly unassuming slot. It looks OK and despite have Wilds, Free Spins and a Bonus it doesn’t feel like a slot that has a whole lot going on. The Wilds come with respins but the Bonus does just award either the Wild feature or Free Spins, and as such you’d be hard pushed to really call it a bonus. The house edge is very impressive and to be honest you are going to be hard pushed to find a slot that offers much better value for money than this one.
