Doom of Egypt Slot Review

Released: November 2019

The Doom of Egypt slot game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing providers in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Doom of Egypt is 3.79%.

The Doom of Egypt slot game has 5 reels and each reel is 3 symbols high. The game uses traditional paylines, with 10 in total playing from left to right.

Special Symbols

Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Scarab Beetle” and will substitute for all symbols.

Scatter – The “Scarab Beetle” is also the game’s Scatter symbol. The symbol will pay out in combinations of 3 or more regardless of paylines. 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels will also trigger the Free Spins feature.

Features

Mega Stacks – In each spin during the main game a symbol will be chosen at random that will be stacked 12 spaces high on the reel.

Free Spins – If you can land 3 or more Scatter symbols then you will be awarded with 12 Free Spins. During the feature a symbol is chosen at random and every time it lands it will expand to fill the reels.

Conclusion

Just a few months down the line from Play ‘n’ Go’s Rise of Dead and we have another Egyptian themed slot from the software giants. The symbols look very similar in what feels like a stripped down version of that earlier release. You get Wilds and Scatters, that are both the same symbol. You also get Free Spins that come with an expanding symbol. That is pretty much your lot, which would suggest that this isn’t really any improvement on the Rise of Dead slot, which was ultimately a more entertaining game. However, the house edge is lower and breaks with Play ‘n’ Go’s tradition for having it set at 4%. This is solid, simple and offers decent value for money.
