The Dragon Ship game can be found at casinos offering Play ‘n Go software. Play ‘n Go are a growing provider in the industry and have a rapidly expanding portfolio of both slots games and clients. They do offer a full casino platform, but primarily seem to be used as a bolt on package for extra slots games. Play ‘n Go do publish the Return to Player (RTP)/House Edge information for their slots games within the game help files. As such we know that the house edge for Dragon Ship is 6%.
The Dragon Ship game is made up of 5 reels, each one 3 symbols high. There are 15 paylines, playing from left to right, excluding Scatters.
Wild – The Wild symbol is the “Dragon Ship”, substituting for all symbols other than Bonus symbols.
Bonus – The Bonus symbol is the “Gold Chest”.
The most valuable symbol is the “Viking Warrior”. This symbol will pay out 100 times the bet if you reveal 3, 500 times the bet if you reveal 4 and 2500 times the bet if you reveal 5.
Bonus Features:
Reels one and five contain stacked Wild “Dragon Ship” symbols. If you manage to fill each of those reels you will be awarded 15 free spins. During the free spins the two reels will stick in place, increasing your chances of winning. You cannot re-trigger the Free Spin bonus and there is no multiplier.
The bonus feature is triggered when you collect 3 of the “Gold Chest” bonus symbols. These only appear on reels 1,3 and 5. When you trigger the bonus you will have to choose to open 1 of the 3 chests for a chance to win a random cash prize. All three chests contain a win, with one of them winning big.
Conclusion
Space Race is decent looking game. The symbols aren’t the most detailed I’ve ever seen but there are some nice graphic touches, like meteors flying across the grid when you hit a Scatter combination and the earth moving to reveal the sun in the distance. The main bonus looks great, is immersive and plays out a bit like a simple game of Battleships in space. No re-triggers is a little disappointing, almost made up for by the additional wilds. Despite all the positives the House Edge makes this game a difficult one to recommend. There is little value for money here and with only the one main bonus you will find better slots games out there.
